Nima Khodakarami is an assistant professor of Health Policy and Administration, and a faculty affiliate with the Social Science Research Institute at the Pennsylvania State University.
His research combines claims data (national and state level inpatient hospitalizations and emergency department visits) and econometric methods to study disparities in health and access to care (among rural, historically marginalized, and underserved people, those with chronic conditions, children, and women), and analyze the effects of health insurance policies (ACA, Medicaid) on health care systems and hospitals.
Dr. Khodakarami received his PhD in Health Services Research from Texas A&M University in 2021 and served as a research fellow at the American Economic Association Summer program at Michigan State University in 2018 and 2019. He also holds an M.S. in Applied Economics, an MBA in Strategic Management, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
